In the southeastern coastal area of Fujian and opposite to Taibei, Jinjiang is one of the famous hometowns of oversea Chinese and ancestral homes of Taiwan compatriots. Enjoying a big comprehensive economic strength in the whole country and the biggest one in Fujian, Jinjiang realized 38 billion yuan GNP in 2003 and ranked 5th among national top 100 towns with regard of regional competitiveness and 14th with regard of integrated social and economic development.

As one of China's production and processing bases and the main distributing centers of textile and clothing industry, Jinjiang gathers more than 3000 textile and clothing enterprises, 30 of which are enterprises with annual output value exceeding 100million yuan, and absorbs 250thousand labors. The output value of the textile and clothing industry of Jinjiang in 2002 reached 24.8billion yuan taking up 38.45% of the whole industrial output value of the city. Attaching the great importance to the technical upgrading, Jinjiang textile and clothing industry increased investment considerably to import more than 8000 water-jet looms, nearly 1000 air-jet looms, 400 rapier looms,

7000 pattern wheels knitting machines, 200 warp knitting machines, 150 sizing machines and a batch of dyeing and fishing machines. With abundant varieties and complete specifications, a whole industrial system integrating chemical fibers, weaving, dyeing&finishing and ready garments has come into being. Septwolves jackets and T shirts, JoeOne trousers and SBS zips take up the leading position with regard of market coverage over past years in each category field. Three China’s well-known brands namely SBS，Septwolves and JoeOne，one China famous brand namely Qipai and nearly 60 Fujian famous and well-known brands are in Jinjiang, where 4 enterprises namely Septwolves, JoeOne, Qipai and K-boxing are among the name list of Chinese top 100 garment enterprises. Jinjiang will fully play its advantages in terms of industrial concentration and technical strength to facilitate the regional rationalization of resources and the high efficient allocation of production factors to further improve the level and scale of the textile and clothing industry. Jinjiang will make contribution to the development of whole country's textile and clothing industry.
